Building a greener future: How (and why!) we’re working towards the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
At CMS Surveyors, we know that the work we do today shapes the communities and environments of tomorrow. That’s why we are proud to announce our commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), a global blueprint for building a fairer, healthier and more sustainable world.
For us, this commitment is not about ticking boxes or chasing buzzwords. It is about recognising the role our industry plays in shaping land, infrastructure and communities, and taking responsibility for ensuring those impacts are positive and lasting. Aligning with the SDGs allows us to set clear priorities for our sustainability journey and hold ourselves accountable to measurable, internationally recognised targets.
So, what does this look like in practice? We’ve elected a number staff to be members of our Sustainability Focus Group, and they’ll keep our team moving in the right direction by researching ways we can reduce energy consumption, promote a healthier lifestyle and reduce, reuse and recycle better.

Our Sustainability Focus Group
We’re not the biggest company out there, but we believe every little bit helps! For now, we’ve commited to just a few of the SDGs to keep us focused and keep things achievable. With a defined framework and a willingness to keep chipping away at what’s right, we are confident that each decision we make, from how we operate our business to how we deliver projects, can help create a greener, fairer future for everyone.
Here are the goals we’ve started working towards at CMS.
