2023 EISSI Awards in Sydney
The surveying industry’s night of nights!
Over the weekend we had the pleasure and privilege of attending the biggest night in Surveying – the annual EISSI Awards. This year the awards were held in the Grand Ballroom of the Hilton, Sydney.
The EISSI Awards bring together some of the most brilliant minds and talented individuals in our field. We’re all part of a community working towards a common goal – advancing this industry that we love. Attending the EISSI Awards allowed us to witness the incredible innovations and breakthroughs achieved that lift the NSW surveying and spatial industry as a whole, and remind us of the limitless opportunities that lie ahead.
While we didn’t bring home an award this time, we couldn’t be prouder of our nominees. Putting together our submissions is a wonderful excuse to look back and shine a light on recent projects, efforts and people within the company. This year we were nominated in two prestigious categories, and our director Andrew Cummins had the honour of introducing the Community And Sustainable Environment award.
Nominations
Infrastructure and Construction category: Our Construction team was nominated for their work on the prestigious Salesforce Tower, Sydney. The team of Andrew Irwin, Fred Pall, Byron Lindsay, Jon Tutte, Brian Whiting, Hamish Roberts, Dominic Demyane, Ramez Shamoon, Liam Bennett worked on this project by Lendlease, to help create the 2nd tallest building in Sydney (and the tallest steel framed building in Australia). At 56 storeys high, and with 9 metres of that below sea-level excavated into sandstone bedrock, the structure is a feat of engineering and architecture.
Young Surveyor Of The Year: Our directors agreed that Roland Christinat from our construction team was the ideal candidate for Young Surveyor of the year. Roland has been with CMS for 5 years now, and in that time has worked on some of our most high-profile projects such as Crown Sydney and One Sydney Harbour. Most importantly though, in that time he has shown that he is that perfect mix of skill, passion and dedication. He’s also just a lovely guy – growing into becoming a great manager and mentor to his team. We couldn’t be prouder to have him as part of the CMS family and we’re excited about his future growth in the industry.
Congratulations to all the well-deserved winning entries. And thanks as always to the Association of Consulting Surveyors NSW and the Institution of Surveyors NSW for putting on a great night!
