ENGINEERING SURVEYOR

Cadastral Surveyor (Northern Beaches based)

We’re looking for an experienced all-rounder Surveyor to join our growing team, working across a variety of Cadastral projects throughout Sydney and the Northern Beaches.

This role is ideal for someone with strong AutoCAD and Civil 3D skills and at least 5+ years of industry experience. You’ll be confident working across a mix of projects — from traditional residential cadastral surveys to small-scale construction work — and bring a flexible, can-do attitude to your day.

We offer a competitive remuneration package, aligned with your experience and skill level. Plus, we value your time; overtime is paid when extra hours are needed.

What you’ll need
  • The right to live and work in Australia (essential)

Survey Assistant – Multiple Positions

Sydney, Northern Beaches and Cootamundra positions available.

We have an opportunity for someone who loves working outdoors in a variety of settings. Every day is different, working with experienced Surveyors on a variety of projects ranging from residential to infrastructure sites to assist in measurements, laser scanning, equipment set up (or calculations and data processing, depending on your abilities).

This role is casual, working 2-5 days per week, considering your study commitments and our workloads.

You will be required to start most days from our Dee Why office, meeting your Survey Party Leader and travelling to site from there.

This would ideally suit someone who is currently studying their Cert 3/4 or Diploma of Surveying at TAFE or Bach of Surveying at Uni, however we will consider applicants with no experience that may have in interest in pursuing a career in Surveying and guide them through the learning pathway options.

Senior Utility Locator (Underground Services)

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Utility Locator ready to take the next step in their career. This is a fantastic opportunity to help shape and expand our utility locating services in alignment with our established Survey team. If you’re keen to lead, innovate, and grow this critical service sector, we want to hear from you.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, you’ll play a leading role in our utility survey projects. You’ll be responsible not only for accurately locating underground infrastructure but also for helping to develop and strengthen our capabilities in this space, working closely with our broader surveying team to deliver integrated, high-quality outcomes.

Your Responsibilities
  • Precisely locate and mark underground services according to Utility Mapping colour code standards
  • Operate locating tools including EMF detectors, handheld pipe and cable locators, and ground penetrating radar (GPR)
  • Gather, record, and manage field data to meet project deliverables
  • Interpret existing utility documentation and survey data
  • Manage field assignments, including preparing BYDA requests and field sketches
  • Provide mentorship and training to junior or trainee locators
  • Contribute to the strategic development and growth of utility locating services within CMS Surveyors

What We’re Looking For
  • Significant hands-on experience using GPR, EMF systems, and utility survey instruments
  • Concrete scanning experience
  • Confidence using digital tools and mobile technology in the field
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with the drive to grow and enhance service offerings

Your Responsibilities
  • Recognised industry qualifications in utility locating (e.g., Certified Locator; NULCA accreditation)
  • A valid White Card (Construction Induction)
  • A current driver’s license
