What is a Height Template?
Height Templates may be requested by Council during the consideration of a Development Application (DA) as they are an effective way to assess the impact of a proposed development upon visual amenity (i.e. the elements of a location that are visually pleasing).
Height Template Construction and Certification is a method of representing structures prior to them being built and is useful in cases where neighbours are concerned about view loss, or where residents are unsure of the eventual height of a development and its potential impact on the surrounding neighbourhood.
